 We are looking for highly motivated candidates of any nationalities to join our team at the Institute of Human Physiology, Catholic University Medical School in Rome, Italy. Ongoing research projects:

• • Molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration with particular reference to pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease;
• • modulation of neural stem cell differentiation and adult hippocampal neurogenesis by pharmacological and physical stimuli;
• • role of viral infections in the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases;
• • effects of electromagnetic stimulation on synaptic plasticity, cell fate and differentiation.

Applicants having a degree in Medicine, Physics, Biology, Pharmacy or Biotechnology will be considered.
They should have interests in cellular neurophysiology and neurobiology. Willingness to apply multidisciplinary experimental techniques is a relevant prerequisite. Candidates with previous experience in in vitro electrophysiology will be preferred. The research unit of Prof. Claudio Grassi provides state-of-the-art research facilities for patch-clamp recordings, multiphoton confocal microscopy, live imaging, immunocytochemistry, quantitative PCR, Western blot, and behavioral tests.
