Description:

A two-year postdoctoral position, with the possibility of renewal, is available at Sapienza University of Rome to work on a research project focused on SYNGAP1-related neurodevelopmental disorders.

The position is funded by Fondazione Telethon within a research project aimed at investigating the molecular, cellular and functional mechanisms underlying SYNGAP1-related disorders and at identifying potential therapeutic strategies.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research team working with patient-derived iPSC models, including cortical neurons and brain organoids, and will contribute to the functional and molecular characterization of SYNGAP1 mutations.

Candidates with a PhD in Neuroscience, Biology, Biotechnology or related fields are encouraged to apply. Previous experience in one or more of the following areas will be considered an advantage: iPSC culture and differentiation, brain organoids, molecular and cellular biology, immunofluorescence and imaging, electrophysiology or functional analysis of neuronal networks.

We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with a strong interest in neurodevelopmental disorders, able to work both independently and within a collaborative environment.
