• “Matteo Caleo” National PhD Thesis Award – Third Edition

    The Matteo Caleo Foundation announces the third edition of the “Matteo Caleo” Award, dedicated to PhD theses addressing topics within the field of Neuroscience.

    The PhD awards are granted as follows: €1,500 (net of statutory tax deductions) for the first-place winner, €500 (net of statutory tax deductions) for the second-place winner, and a commemorative plaque for the third-place winner. The awards are funded by the Matteo Caleo Foundation ETS and are intended for candidates who have carried out a three-year research project in the field of Neuroscience within the 38th PhD cycle at Italian universities.

    The deadline for application submission is 9 April 2026 at 17:00 (CET).

  • FISV Young Investigator Award 2026 – Call Now Open

    The Federazione Italiana Scienze della Vita (FISV) has launched the FISV Young Investigator Award 2026, dedicated to recognising outstanding international publications in the Life Sciences published in 2024–2025.

    Six prizes of €2,000 each will be awarded.

    Eligible applicants must be under 35 years of age (as of 1 January 2026), be first or corresponding author of the submitted paper, and be members in good standing of a FISV-affiliated society, including SINS. The publication must have been published in an international journal with Impact Factor between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2025.

  • Neuroscience Capacity Accelerator for Mental Health (NCAMH): Call for Applications 2026

    The Neuroscience Capacity Accelerator for Mental Health (NCAMH) is now open for applications.

    Funded by Wellcome and implemented by the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), NCAMH is a global programme designed to advance neuroscience research in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), with a specific focus on depression, anxiety, and psychosis.

    About the programme

    Over a 9-month period, the programme supports early- and mid-career researchers through:

    • Grants for networking activities
    • Funding for pilot data generation
    • Collaboration with Lived Experience experts
    • Support for research proposal development
    • Tailored professional development activities aimed at strengthening research and leadership skills

    NCAMH aims to foster international collaboration and build sustainable research capacity in the field of mental health neuroscience.

    The Aldo Fasolo Neuroscience Communication Award, organized by the PhD Program in Neuroscience of the University of Turin in collaboration with the InToBrain Association, has reached its seventh edition.     The Neuro – Irv and Helga Cooper Foundation Open Science Prizes, sponsored by the Irv and Helga Cooper Foundation, is an initiative from The Tanenbaum Open Science Institute (TOSI), now in its fifth year.

    The Prizes Recognize Projects, services, tools, and platforms that unlock the power of Open Science in neuroscience to advance research, innovation, and collaboration for the benefit of health and society.

    Tanenbaum Open Science Institute Founded to drive the adoption of Open Science wihin The Neuro and neuroscience research institutes across Canada. In addition to promoting Open Science within The Neuro, TOSI engages in strategic collaborations and partnerships through its Open Science Support and Partnership Framework. Through the Framework TOSI supports and guides other institutes in adopting Open Science practices and principles and establishes an alliance of neuroscience research institutes across Canada committed to Open Science.

  • “Pedro Lagomarsino de Leon Roig” Doctoral Prize in Neuroscience – Third Edition

    The Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) announces the third edition of the “Pedro Lagomarsino de Leon Roig” Doctoral Prize for the best PhD thesis in Neuroscience and related fields, awarded for work completed in Italy during the XXXVI and XXXVII cycles. The prize will recognize research that combines excellence in scientific results and methods used for data analysis and management, alongside a commitment to open science (“Open Science”).

    Through this award, IIT aims to honor the memory of the young Argentine researcher Pedro Lagomarsino de Leon Roig, who prematurely passed away. He was a passionate advocate for the need to practice fully documented, open, transparent, and reusable science for all.

    The deadline for applications is July 14, 2025, and the winner will be announced in autumn 2025.

    The award ceremony will take place by the end of 2025.

    The Matteo Caleo Foundation is pleased to announce the second edition of the “Matteo Caleo” Award, dedicated to doctoral theses that have explored topics related to the field of Neuroscience.
