The School of Physiology and Biophysics was established in 1997 in response to the rapid advancement of experimental techniques in the field, which made it increasingly challenging for researchers—especially early-career scientists—to keep pace with ongoing developments. At the same time, the initiative aimed to reduce the financial barriers associated with participation in courses and scientific meetings.
Since then, the School has offered a recurring training programme designed to address key topics in physiology and biophysics on a rotating basis. Participation is limited to a maximum of 20–25 attendees and is primarily intended for motivated young researchers under the age of 35, regardless of their specific level of expertise in the field. Registration fees are kept low to ensure broad accessibility.
The programme combines theoretical lectures with practical sessions and includes ample opportunities for discussion and exchange, actively involving participants in the learning process.
The course will focus on “Computational approaches in systems neurophysiology” and is open to a maximum of 20 young researchers.
