Location: Pisa

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, under the aegis of the Governing Board of the Society, we are pleased to inform you that the next National Congress of the Italian Society for Neuroscience (SINS) will be held in Pisa, from September 10th to 13th, 2025.

We have secured the participation of worldwide leaders in the many disciplines represented in our Society, who will deliver the Presidential Lecture and the other Plenary Lectures (6 in all). As always, we count on contributions from the Society, in the form of symposium proposals and abstracts, to set up an exciting multidisciplinary scientific program that will dedicate particular attention to contributions by our younger colleagues. The program will include special interest lectures, events, satellite sessions, poster sessions, and networking opportunities, with ample space for sharing scientific material and visiting our Sponsors’ booths.

The Congress will be hosted in the historic center of Pisa, a wonderful and dynamic city with an outstanding heritage and many attractions within walking distance, including perfect places to meet with friends and colleagues.

We are excited to bring the community and celebrate neuroscience in Pisa.

We look forward to meeting you all!

Call for Poster Abstract

We are pleased to announce that Abstract submission for the Poster Sessions of the SINS 2025 National Congress is now open.

Poster presentations have always been a cornerstone of our meetings, fostering scientific exchange and networking among researchers. For the upcoming congress, we are dedicating extended time slots and a central role in the program to ensure broad visibility and interaction.

We strongly encourage young neuroscientists to submit their research. The Scientific Committee will select outstanding Abstracts as Oral Communication.

Submission Guidelines

Each Abstract submission must include:

  • Full name, affiliation, and email address of the Author/s (specifying the Presenting Author)
  • Title of the Abstract (concise and informative, maximum 10 words)
  • Text of the Abstract (maximum 300 words)
  • Relevant publications (up to 2) on the topic, in which the Presenting Author of the Abstract is listed as one of the Authors. (optional but recommended, as they will be considered in the selection process for Oral Communications)
  • Relevant topic chosen from the following:
    • Cognition and Behavior
    • Development
    • Disorders of the Nervous System
    • Excitability, Synaptic Transmission, Network Functions
    • Novel Methods and Technology Development
    • Sensory and Motor Systems
    • Sleep, Autonomic and Neuroendocrine Systems

Submission Process

Abstracts must be submitted via the Congress Management Platform, adhering to the Instructions for Authors.

The submission deadline is April 27, 2025.

Notifications of acceptance will be announced by May 23, 2025.

Presentation Guidelines

Each Author may submit and be listed as an Author on multiple Abstracts, but may present only one Poster or Oral Communication.

Posters and Oral Communications will be included in the program and presented only if at least the Presenting Author is fully registered for the Congress.

Abstracts selected for Oral Communications will not be presented as Posters.

Evaluation Criteria

Abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee based on their Novelty, Scientific Quality, Relevance, and Clarity.

Submissions expressing interest in an Oral Communication will be further reviewed to assess their suitability for inclusion in the Oral Communication sessions.
