The scientific meeting organized by Airett stems from the need to understand the current state of research on Rett Syndrome in Italy, and more importantly, from the necessity of creating a network among researchers. Too often, research is left to individual scholars and institutions, which can negatively impact scientific progress. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are the best ways to achieve meaningful results.
At present, both the scientific community and associations are particularly interested in the outcomes of gene therapy trials, which appear promising.
However, research cannot stop or focus solely on this approach, as many questions remain, and the timelines are long. It’s crucial to continue exploring different therapeutic approaches in parallel.
Airett has organized this scientific meeting precisely to emphasize the importance of continuing research and maintaining active collaborations at both national and international levels. The association also aims to reaffirm its ongoing commitment to supporting research on Rett Syndrome, positioning itself as a driving force behind new studies.
