The Neuro – Irv and Helga Cooper Foundation Open Science Prizes, sponsored by the Irv and Helga Cooper Foundation, is an initiative from The Tanenbaum Open Science Institute (TOSI), now in its fifth year.
The Prizes Recognize Projects, services, tools, and platforms that unlock the power of Open Science in neuroscience to advance research, innovation, and collaboration for the benefit of health and society.
Tanenbaum Open Science Institute Founded to drive the adoption of Open Science wihin The Neuro and neuroscience research institutes across Canada. In addition to promoting Open Science within The Neuro, TOSI engages in strategic collaborations and partnerships through its Open Science Support and Partnership Framework. Through the Framework TOSI supports and guides other institutes in adopting Open Science practices and principles and establishes an alliance of neuroscience research institutes across Canada committed to Open Science.
“Pedro Lagomarsino de Leon Roig” Doctoral Prize in Neuroscience – Third Edition

The Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) announces the third edition of the “Pedro Lagomarsino de Leon Roig” Doctoral Prize for the best PhD thesis in Neuroscience and related fields, awarded for work completed in Italy during the XXXVI and XXXVII cycles. The prize will recognize research that combines excellence in scientific results and methods used for data analysis and management, alongside a commitment to open science (“Open Science”).
Through this award, IIT aims to honor the memory of the young Argentine researcher Pedro Lagomarsino de Leon Roig, who prematurely passed away. He was a passionate advocate for the need to practice fully documented, open, transparent, and reusable science for all.
The deadline for applications is July 14, 2025, and the winner will be announced in autumn 2025.
The award ceremony will take place by the end of 2025.
Matteo Caleo National Award for Doctoral Theses – Second Edition

The Matteo Caleo Foundation is pleased to announce the second edition of the “Matteo Caleo” Award, dedicated to doctoral theses that have explored topics related to the field of Neuroscience.
The award includes the following prizes:
- €2,000 (net of applicable taxes) for the first-place winner,
- €500 (net of applicable taxes) for the second-place winner,
- A commemorative plaque for the third-place winner.
The prizes are provided by the Matteo Caleo Foundation ETS and are open to PhD students who have conducted Neuroscience-related research as part of the 37th PhD cycle at an Italian University.
Moscabianca Award

Supported by the Association of Patients with CML, this award embodies values of independence, integrity, creativity, and dedication to patient well-being. The 2025 prize consists of €10,000 and a gold and enamel pin.

Call for Travel Award for the 48th Annual Meeting of the Japan Neuroscience Society

Excellence in Neuroinflammation Award 2025

General call description
The Francesco della Valle Foundation purpose is to pursue the promotion of scientific research in the medical and biology field, with particular reference to neuroinflammation, both at a central and peripheral level. To this aim, the Foundation is issuing the “Excellence in Neuroinflammation Award” to recognize the remarkable and outstanding scientific publications by Young Researchers (under the age of 40) in the field of the natural mechanisms of neuroinflammation. Within the aforementioned aim, studies focused on nonneuronal cells (e.g., microglia, mast cells) will be preferred. The award is designed as a form of support and encouragement for researchers at the early stage of their career. The name of the awardee will be formally announced at the “Francesco della Valle Foundation” website and the 2025 Excellence in Neuroinflammation meeting.
Excellence in Neuroinflammation 2025 Award call
An award of EUR 3,000.00 will be granted to the best original research article published or accepted for publication between January 1st, 2024, and December 31st, 2024. The awardee will be notified by the end of March and will be invited to present his/her work at the 2025 Excellence in Neuroinflammation Meeting to be held next fall in Italy.
EWMD Sisters Louhabi Award

From June 1, 2024, to July 31, 2024, applications are open for the competition to obtain the title of Excellent Young Researcher and win the €2,000 prize sponsored by EWMD.
The prize is dedicated to the memory of the Louhabi sisters, who exemplified dedication to scientific studies as a passion and personal growth for young women. This award aims to promote excellence in female research by supporting and recognizing young female scientists. It is intended for a researcher working in Italy who has published the best scientific and technological research in the biomedical-pharmaceutical field during 2023-2024.
