• Best Poster Award – SINS 2025

    Deadline:

    The SINS Congress will once again recognize the best posters, highlighting scientific excellence and the contribution of young neuroscientists. The 10 highest-scoring poster presenters will receive a prize of €250 and one year of free SINS membership, while those ranked 11th to 20th will be awarded one year of free membership.

  • CONGRESS GRANTS TO ATTEND INRC 2025 – International Narcotics Research Conference (Bologna, July 8–11, 2025)

    The Italian Society for Neuroscience (SINS) is pleased to announce the availability of 5 (five) congress grants to support pre-doctoral and post-doctoral members attending the INRC 2025 – International Narcotics Research Conference, to be held in Bologna, Italy, from July 8 to 11, 2025.

    Each grant amounts to €400.

    ELIGIBILITY

    To be considered, applicants must:

    • Be a SINS member in good standing (membership dues paid);
    • Be the first (presenting) author of at least one Abstract accepted at INRC 2025;
    • Be a pre-doctoral or post-doctoral fellow under the age of 36 at the time of the conference;
    • Not hold a permanent position;
    • Be an Italian citizen or resident;
    • Not receive financial support from their home institution or other organizations to attend the event.

    APPLICATION PROCEDURE

    The application must be submitted via email to application@sins.it.
    Subject line: “INRC 2025 – Congress Grant Application”

    The following documents must be attached:

    1. Completed and signed application form (DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE . DOCX)
    2. Proof of Abstract submission and congress registration (e.g., confirmation emails or screenshots);

    RECIPIENTS WILL BE SELECTED ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS, PROVIDED ALL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ARE MET.

    The grant amount will be reimbursed by SINS upon presentation of proof of payment for the registration fee and a certificate of attendance issued by the conference organizers at the end of the event.

  • CALL FOR TRAVEL GRANTS for Young Italian Neuroscientists

    Deadline: 02/05/2025

    The Italian Society for Neuroscience will award 20 travel grants to support pre doctoral and post doctoral members attending the 21st SINS National Congress, to be held in Pisa, September 10 13, 2025.

    Each grant will amount to €500.

    ELIGIBILITY:

    To be eligible, the applicant must:

    • Be a SINS member in good standing;
    • Be the first (Presenting) Author of at least one Abstract accepted for either a Poster Presentation or an Oral Communication at the Congress;
    • Be a pre-doctoral or post-doctoral fellow under the age of 36 at the time of the Congress;
    • Be an Italian citizen or resident;
    • Not hold a permanent position;
    • Not receive financial support from the home institution or any other organization to attend the event;
    • Not reside in the province of Pisa or be currently enrolled in a university or research institution located there.

    APPLICATION PROCESS:

    The application must be submitted via email to application@sins.it, and must include the following documents:

    1. Completed personal data form (download HERE);
    2. Copy of a valid ID or passport;
    3. Curriculum vitae including a list of publications;
    4. Declaration of non-permanent position, signed by the head of the laboratory, indicating whether the applicant holds a doctoral degree;
    5. Copy of the abstract submitted to the Congress.

    Grants will be awarded after the conclusion of the Congress, upon presentation of the Certificate of Attendance

    SELECTION CRITERIA:

    Grants will be awarded by the SINS Governing Board following a comparative evaluation of the scientific merit of the applicants, based on their CVs and publication records.

  • Compete for SINS Awards at Upcoming Migraine Therapy Conference!

    Deadline: 19/09/2024

    We are pleased to announce the opportunity to compete for four awards of €250 each for the best posters presented by young SINS members at the “Novel Pharmacological Approaches in Migraine Therapy” conference, which will take place in Rende (Cosenza) on September 19-20, 2024.

    Award Guidelines:

    Eligibility: All young SINS members in good standing for the year 2024 who present a poster at the conference are eligible.

    Poster Topics: Posters should present original and unpublished research in one of the following areas:

    • Basic research on migraine or neuropathic pain (the latter only for basic research, given the limited number of migraine models available)
    • Translational and clinical research on migraine.

    Evaluation and Selection Committee: Posters will be evaluated by a committee of three members selected from colleagues participating in the meeting as speakers or chairpersons. The evaluation will be based on the originality and innovativeness of the research presented.

    Poster Presentation and Discussion: Posters will be presented and discussed as outlined in the program, during the lunch break on September 20th.

    Award Presentation: The awards will be announced before the conclusion of the meeting, based on the committee’s decision.

    This is a great opportunity for you to showcase your innovative research and receive recognition from the scientific community.

  • Call for Fellowships for Young Italian Neuroscientists

    Deadline: 25/02/2024

    The Italian Society for Neuroscience (SINS) will award at least 10 stipends to its pre doctoral and post doctoral members for the participation in the FENS Forum 2024, to be held in Vienna (AT) on June 25-29, 2024.
    Fellowships will be awarded by the SINS Board based on a comparative evaluation of the scientific value of the applicants’ CV and publications.

    The amount of each fellowship is 300 euros.

  • SINS 2023 Best Poster Award

    Deadline: 16/09/2023

    Presenting Authors of the top ten (10) scored abstracts scheduled as Poster presentations will be awarded as SINS Outstanding Poster Presenters and will receive a prize of € 250 plus 1 year free SINS Membership. Abstracts scored from eleven (11) to twenty (20) will be awarded 1 year free SINS Membership.

    An ad hoc Committee including members of the SINS Governing Board, members of the Local Committee and members of the SINS Young Committee have been set up to this duty.

    The amount of each fellowship is 500 euros.

    Eligibility:
    The applicant must be a Member of SINS in good standing, and should be the first Author of at least one Abstract accepted for Poster or Oral Presentation at the Congress.
    The eligible applicants must be pre-doctoral or post-doctoral fellows, younger than 36 years by the dates of the congress, Italian citizen or resident, with no permanent position.
